We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: to process your order efficiently and to provide you with the best possible service in the future.
The type of information we will collect about you includes:

- through our secure 3rd party clearance supplier your credit/debit card details (which we do not have access to).
We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us at dpo@b-opie.com. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.
The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and current legislation.
We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent and we will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future.
If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.
We may also use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using "cookies" which are stored on your browser. Should you wish, you can modify your browser to prevent this happening. Information collected in this way can be used to identify you when you revisit.

Your Personal Data
What we need
Bennett Opie Ltd will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or unreasonable requests. This does however include name, address, email etc.
Why we need it
We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with our best possible service in responding to your request. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.
What we do with it
All the personal data we hold and process is done so by our staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the European Union.
Third parties, including the one we use to facilitate our e-commerce facility i.e. Shopify, will not have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. How long we keep it
Your information we use for responding to your request will be kept on our files until you notify us that you no longer wish to be included on our database. If you request that your data be removed, or do not agree to our privacy policy by ticking the relevant check box, you may not receive the service you initially submitted your information for. What we would also like to do with it
We would however like to use your name and email address to respond to your request. We may also use your information to customise the website according to your interests, send you marketing materials, details about new products and offers which we believe might be of interest to you or to contact you for market research purposes.
In the case of market research, we may share your details with a recognised third party research company who will carry out the research on our behalf. They will not pass your details on to a third party and the information will only be used for research on behalf of Bennett Opie Ltd. They will not be able to use it for other companies without your expressed permission.

What are your rights?
If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter.
If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
